Mary Petrosky

Mary Petrosky is admittedly a perpetual student. Although her sister took accordion lessons when they were growing up, Mary didn't know what the buttons were for but figured she WOULD play the instrument some day. She took it up 5 years ago, after experience with piano and organ. She is a founding member of ACT and has played with the Arizona Balalaika Orchestra. Why does she play? "Accordion is the instrument hardly anyone plays anymore but everyone likes. It's more portable than a piano and doesn't need an accompanist." This retired Navy nurse also enjoys many hobbies ñ she is an accomplished knitter and seamstress, she enjoys puzzles of any kind especially logic and jigsaw, she sings in several local choruses, and her latest interest is surfing the internet.
